Certainly the maps that we use from MapQuest or Google are up to the task of helping you find anyplace in Sarasota and Mantee Counties, but sometimes, they aren't that convenient, and lack the 'big picture" aspect that a good local map can provide.
AAA offers free maps to it's members and there is an office in Sarasota and Bradenton on SR 64.
The most helpful map I've seen for tourists is the Gulf Coast Heritage Trail Map and Brochure found at the Sarasota Visitors Center. It is a bit out of date, but it points out most of the worthwhile attractions and features the major routes.
