It's a fact that there is a considerable seasonal element to the economy and lifestyles of Sarasota and Manatee Counties.
While tourism does represent a significant part of the local economy, it's not the entire story by a long shot.
High-tech industry, business and banking services and educational sectors are well represented. Unemployment is generally low, as is the cost of living. Real estate saw a huge boom over the past decade, but recently, prices and choices are favoring buyers once again.
