It's surprising how many things there are for familes to do in, and around, Saraosta. Many of the local museums are orientend towards children - including the GWiz museum and Mote Marine Laboratory Aquarium.

The beaches are very kid-safe - with very few drop offs, and the general pace and disposition of Sarasota is slower and more low-keyed than many of the beach cities along the Atlantic coast.

Find a family friendly resort; sit back and watch your kids play in one of America's nicest small cities.

There are a ton of places that make for a great family vacation. While most of the hotels and resorts do claim to be oriented towards families, you can probably do better with a vacation rental or managed properties that are designated vacation apartments. They give you to feel of home and offer kitchens or kitchenette - perfect for early morning breakfasts and late-nite snacks.
