At the Waterlefe Golf & River Club, you’ll be sure to experience a resort community that is filled with magnificent beauty and fabulous services. You’ll be quick to notice one of the best golf courses found anywhere in the U.S.
The course finds its way across 6,908 yards, across conservation areas and along the beautiful Manatee River. Ted McAnlis developed the 18-hole championship course under a plan and it provides five sets of tees that can test the skills of any established golfer
The design of the Waterlefe & River Club combines both land and water along with princely oaks and panoramas of the Manatee River and the adjacent marshes. The Waterlefe takes its inspiration from the backdrop of the Manatee River and blends perfectly with the waterside area.
The Bradenton-based Waterlefe golf course has been rated as one of the Top 100 courses. The course rating is 73.8, while the slope rating is 141 all on Bermuda grass. The top-notch championship course opened in 2000.
Once you have teed off here, you might describe Waterlefe as the finest golf experience that intertwines both challenge and beauty - both prerequisites to the enjoyment of the game. The four memorable holes alongside the picturesque Manatee River may surpass your expectations.
Although golf at the Waterlefe is a magnificent by any standard, it is not the only activity to be enjoyed here. The River Club is popular for its touted features that include banquets, fine dining, fitness rooms, a tiki bar and of course a swimming pool. The River Club's significance in the community stems from its role as a social hub for the residents of Waterlefe. The clubhouses here play host elegant dining spaces offering a wide range of casual fare as well as delectable dishes that fit the taste of any palate. Housed inside the River Club, a fitness center is available where you can shed some of the weight you gained from the tantalizing menu selections. Apart from the latest in fitness equipment, the fitness room also has a fitness director/instructor, who works full time.
As a member-owned club, the River Club hosts special events like weddings, luncheons, and receptions - all of which are membership-sponsored. The River Club dining services and the Pointe are available for members to take advantage of. The main dining room is able to hold up to 120 people depending on the seating arrangements. The private dining room houses 30 people and may be used together with the main dining room to seat a maximum of 150. There is even a dance floor in the Club that accommodates DJs and live entertainment on a small scale.
The Pointe is a family meeting place that offers a retreat so that residents of the Club can go for a stroll alongside conservation areas and the Manatee River, or picnic and have loads of fun at Wade's Wilderness way.
The lookout tower at the Pointe enables you to see far beyond the edge of the river. You can check out the marina and the boat docks, if you're a boating enthusiast. Fifty-nine docking-strips are set up along the Manatee and go as far as the Gulf of Mexico. Along with that, 14 general docks provide a useful service for those residents who wish to preserve their boats near their home.
Any way you look at it, the Waterlefe Golf & River Club is an amazing find. The features here that make staying at the Waterlefe memorable are elegant homes set amid pristine landscapes, facilities that combine naturally with the riverfront, and of course the opportunity to play championship golf, nature trails, and clubhouses.
