Serenoa Golf Club

Mark Alden, who designed the Serenoa Golf Club project, has designed a golf course unlike any other in Sarasota. In essence, Alden's vision combined with the natural layout of the land and the wetlands created the masterpiece that is the Serenoa Golf Club. The golf course here is touted as the top 100 in Florida and one of the top three in Sarasota.
In essence, Alden supposedly took the rubberstamp Florida golf course and put a spin on it. By bringing water into play on each hole and creating a shot-maker's course, he was able to take a 6,270-yard layout and made it play like it was a 7,200-yard course. Hence, the Serenoa golf course presents a challenge much different from the usual tee-shot between two bunkers to an elevated green, guarded by two bunkers that is typical of other Sarasota golf courses.
Serenoa distinguishes itself from other golf courses right from the start with a 440-yard monster on hole no.1. As it has water all the way down on the right of a wide fairway and water on the right of the green, the no.1 hole is presumably the most intimidating opening hole in Sarasota.
In fact, the entire layout of the course offers stiff challenges. Once you get into the game, Serenoa proves to be quite challenging indeed. After the first hole, there isn't a par 4 over 400 yards. Amidst the water, accuracy is the name of the game if you plan to shoot a decent score here.
Perhaps, the most amazing attribute of Serenoa's course is the way the layout gently rolls via the Florida wetlands and marshlands, native to the state. There is plenty of wildlife here, and the fairways might have some of the most beautiful of Florida's natural flora. As the natural splendor here is truly breathtaking, Serenoa might just take you on a tour of all your senses.

If you need to book the Golf Club for a holiday party, the Serenoa Golf Club has a magnificent clubhouse that is just the right venue for special events. The club houses a 5,000 square foot banquet room that can house from 10-150, and there is also a 1,800 square foot deck that can host as many as 48 people. The staff at the club can help you with the menu and take care of all the arrangements ahead of the event. In fact, all you have to do is book the date and they will take care of the rest. The experienced staff here is trained in customer service and capable of executing the perfect event.
