Lush and liquid - this 18-hole championship golf course in Nokomis (between Sarasota and Venice) sits between us 41 and I-75 at exit 195, yet is worlds away due to the numerous lakes and beautiful tree-lined fairways.
Calusa Lakes Golf Club is a golfer's paradise in Venice and is a favorite among players of all skill levels. There is much to enjoy in each individual hole on this course.
The course offers great variety of play, while presenting unique challenges to ascertain strengths and weaknesses of each player. The golf course here is also open to the public.
Golf packages are available via local accommodations in the area and the friendly PGA staff at the Calusa Golf Club are at hand to help improve your swing. There are several events conducted on the site; they include Junior Golf, tournaments and leagues along with corporate outings.

The Calusa Lakes Golf Club is situated between US 41 and I-75 and is close to the Gulf of Mexico beaches and historic downtown Venice. The venue is just half an hour away from major destinations like Siesta Key, Casey Key, Sarasota, North Port, Englewood, and Port Charlotte. This is a golf only facility with 10 tees driving range and 18 regulation holes.
The clubhouse at the Calusa Club offers a hearty breakfast or lunch and is open to everyone. You can even take a peak at how golfers are doing practicing their shots at the aqua driving range, during your visit to the clubhouse. The golf pro shop is also fully equipped with accessories to enhance your golf. You will most likely look good too with a few purchases of golf merchandise and equipment.
Other aspects that make Calusa Lakes attractive to golfers is that it has mild tropical weather and friendly staff along with prices that are reasonable. Tee times should be made four days in advance of play date. The course rating for the golf course here is 72.7, while the slope rating is 127. The course was designed by Ted McAnlis and opened in 1991.
The course at the Calusa Lakes Golf Club is touted for its magnificent condition, despite frequent visits by golfers looking for the perfect Florida course. The fairways are beautifully kept and the greens are second to none in the Venice, Sarasota area. And the waiting times are also reasonable at this course.
