Bobby Jones Golf Club is named after legendary golfer Robert Trent Jones Jr. and is a 45-hole municipal golf course facility. It's been named: 'Best Public/Semi Private Golf Course'.
OMG - 45-holes of golf! This municipal course features three separate courses 2 18-hole and an executive course. With yardage from 6,467 to 1,687 there's always time to play a round here.
AND - it's been named: ‘Best Public/Semi Private Golf Course.” Call anytime to schedule your tee time - up to five days in advance.
Initially, architect Donald Ross designed the 18 holes at this golf course in 1926. Adding to that, another nine holes were designed in 1952 along with yet another nine in 1967. Meanwhile, the John H. Gillespie Executive Course, the latest addition to the Bobby Jones Golf Club, was finished in 1977.
The Bobby Jones Golf Club practice area consists of 10 artificial turf-hitting stations, along with a 225 yards restriction on the distance. And it has a grass pitching area that is separate and this area consists of practice sand bunkers and 3 putting greens - these are helpful for short game practice lessons and instruction.
Bobby Jones also has a Golf Club Pro Shop with a wide variety of golf accessories, soft goods and equipment. Brands offering high quality golf equipment include Odyssey, Wilson, Ping, Cleveland Golf, and Titleist. The store also carries logoed products from Cutter & Buck, Antigua, Ashworth, Bette & Court and Monterey. All of the items on display at the Golf Club Shop have a competitive price tag on them.
Golf is not the only game you can enjoy at Bobby Jones. The facility also has 3 hard surface tennis courts. The courts are available on a first come, first serve basis and is open to everyone. The Tennis courts come with an hourly fee of $2.50 per person and can be bought at the clubhouse pro shop. The courts lie next to the first tee of the Gillespie Executive Course.
If you need the convenience of storing your golf clubs and pull carts, you have the option of not lugging around all your golfing paraphernalia. Instead, you can rent metal storage lockers on annual or semi-annual basis. The rent fee is $143.41.
And if you'd like to get a bite to eat after your golfing exploits, stop by the Mulligan's Grille at Bobby Jones. Mulligan's has a seating capacity of 150 and offers lunch, dinner and breakfast along with bar service. This is also a good place to hold special events and banquets in case you have one in mind during your stay in Sarasota.
The Bobby Jones Golf Club is unique in that it is the only golf facility within the cit limits of the beautiful sea town of Sarasota. Sarasota is famous for its golfing grounds and is commonly referred to as a golfing mecca that lies on the Gulf of Mexico coast.
