The beaches in and around Sarasota (about 40 miles worth) have some of the finest sand you'll ever find. On a few beaches, you might think you were walking on baby powder.

In Spring and early summer, the water is crystal clear - Bahamian. In summer and fall, the water is almost as warm as a nicely drawn bath.

Most beaches have ample access and parking, although a few require a little pre-trip planning and thought. Most of the beach goers are well behaved and families with young children are very welcome.
