I Love Sarasota

Having sailed south from Clearwater with whipping winds during a cold and tumultous February night, we dropped anchor a hundred feet or so off Lido Beach at 03:20 and fell very fast asleep.
The morning wake up call: the dreamy rhythm of small wavelettes lapping the beach. On deck: the torquoise Gulf waters as still as glass, sea birds singing, and the serentiy of people making their morning stroll along beautiful Lido Beach.
A row ashore and then a walk - just a few blocks - to a St. Armands Circle breakfast.
The beginning of a love affair with Sarasota.
